An opportunity to create ceramic shell molds up to approx. 15 lbs. in preparation for the International Conference on Cast Iron Art. The instructors will give guidance and support in spruing and venting, shell preparation, reinforcement, burnout, and casting readiness. Please bring finished waxes or patterns to the workshop along with personal safety equipment such as particulate masks or respirators, safety galsses, latex gloves, aprons and work clothes. The workshop will take place on-site at the casting shed, and is open to beginners as well as experienced foundry artists.

10 places only. 50 pounds sterling per shell.

Staff and Students from WWSOA did a test pour this week to test fumes/smoke/electrics. Everything worked fine to add to the smoke we lit a BBQ, as soon as the food was ready Steve, Crash, Ernie and Paige from Alfred turned up to help!

Sculpture for the curated show at Kidwelly Castle is now installed, chosen by Wilfred Cass the exhibition will be open until 17th Sept, the official opening will be on the evening of the 8th July.

There is an error on the date for the Blaenavon trip it should read 6th July not 6th April, apologies for any confusion.

Lucy Quinell of the Fire and Iron Gallery, Leatherhead, Surrey will be attending the conference to select work for an post conference exhibition. All delegates can exhibit work in the 6th International Open Exhibition at the conference site, if you wish to put forward your work for selection just let us know at the conference.
