Kidwelly is a ancient Welsh town established in approximately 1115AD. It has one of the finest 12th century castles in Wales that dominates the town. It stands impregnably proud overlooking the river Gwendraeth. Nearby St. Marys church built in 1320 as a Benedictine Priory before the Reformation. On the banks of the Gwendraeth is Kidwelly Industrial Museum a former tinplate works established in 1737.
The Pembrokeshire National Park, the Gower Peninsula and the Brecon Beacons have a superb mix of rolling countryside, seashore and woodland to explore.
